Emberiza yessoensis (Swinhoe, 1874)

Ochre-rumped Bunting, Emberiza yessoensis, is a bunting of far eastern marshes in the Palearctic, breeding patchily in eastern Mongolia, north-east China, far south-east Russia and Japan, and spending the non-breeding season in central to southern Japan, the Korean Peninsula and coastal eastern China. It was first described by Swinhoe in 1874. The species is also known as the Japanese reed bunting. Its natural home is temperate grassland and swamps, and in South Korea it is treated as endangered.
