Olive Bee-eater, Merops superciliosus, is a bee-eater of Africa, breeding from Ethiopia to Namibia and on Madagascar. It is found in grassland and coastal mountain forest, with an isolated population in coastal Angola. Adults have bronzy-green plumage, an olive cap, white forehead, eyebrows, chin and cheeks, and blue rump and tail, with black streamers. The sexes are similar. It was described by Linnaeus in 1766. Two subspecies are recognised, one in eastern Africa, Madagascar and the Comoro Islands, and one in western Angola and north-west Namibia.
