Turnix olivii

The Olive buttonquail (Turnix olivii) is a small ground-dwelling bird found in parts of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its mottled brown plumage, short rounded wings, and distinctive button-like knob on its wings. These birds are primarily found in grasslands, scrublands, and open woodlands where they forage for seeds, insects, and small invertebrates. They are known for their secretive nature and are often difficult to spot due to their cryptic coloration and habit of freezing when approached.
