Coua olivaceiceps
The Olive-capped Coua is a medium-sized bird native to the dry forests and scrublands of Madagascar. It is characterized by its striking olive-green cap, black mask, and chestnut underparts. This species is known for its distinctive vocalizations, including a variety of calls and songs. Olive-capped Couas forage on the ground for insects, small reptiles, and fruits. They are often seen in pairs or small groups, moving through the dense vegetation in search of food. While not currently considered threatened, the Olive-capped Coua faces habitat loss and fragmentation due to deforestation and human activities.
