Olive-colored White-eye

Zosterops oleagineus

The Olive-colored White-eye (Zosterops oleagineus) is a small passerine bird found in the Pacific Islands. It is characterized by its olive-green plumage, white eye-ring, and small size. This species is known for its acrobatic foraging behavior, often seen hanging upside down while feeding on nectar, fruit, and insects. Olive-colored White-eyes are highly social birds, forming large flocks and engaging in complex vocalizations. They inhabit a variety of forested habitats, including tropical and subtropical forests, and are often found in the canopy and mid-levels of trees. Although not currently assessed by the IUCN, their populations may face threats from habitat loss and invasive species.
