Tolmomyias viridiceps

The Olive-faced Flatbill (Tolmomyias viridiceps) is a small passerine bird found in the Amazon Basin of South America. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, and a distinctive olive face. This species is known for its loud, monotonous calls that are often heard in the forest understory. Olive-faced Flatbills primarily feed on insects and are often observed foraging in the dense foliage of tropical rainforests. They are known for their agile and acrobatic flight patterns as they navigate through the dense vegetation. These birds are typically found in lowland tropical forests, especially near streams and rivers. While not currently classified, their population is believed to be stable, and they are not considered threatened at present.
