Olive-green Tanager

Hylophilus olivaceus

The Olive-green Tanager (Hylophilus olivaceus) is a small songbird found in the forests of South America. It is characterized by its olive-green plumage, with a yellowish tinge on the underparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard echoing through the dense foliage of its habitat. Olive-green Tanagers forage for insects and fruits in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. They are often observed in mixed-species flocks, displaying agile and acrobatic flight patterns. While not currently considered threatened, deforestation and habitat loss pose potential risks to their populations.
