Olive Spinetail, Cranioleuca obsoleta, is a passerine of the ovenbird family found in southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina. It is a resident bird of humid forest, including secondary growth, and Araucaria-dominated woodland. A small, short-billed member of Cranioleuca, it has the same plumage in both sexes. Adults show a whitish eyebrow, a dark band behind the eye, a chestnut-rufous tail with a spiky look, and warm brown wings. Juveniles are darker above and show variable scaling on the breast.
