Olive-striped Flycatcher
Elaenia olivina
The Olive-striped Flycatcher (Elaenia olivina) is a small passerine bird found in South America. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, and a distinctive olive stripe through the eye. This species is often found in open woodlands, forest edges, and shrubby areas, where it perches to sally out and catch insects in mid-air. The Olive-striped Flycatcher is known for its melodious, whistled song, which it uses to establish territories and attract mates. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation may pose future challenges to this species.
