Olive Whistler

Pachycephala olivacea

The Olive Whistler (Pachycephala olivacea) is a small to medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of eastern Australia. It is known for its olive-green plumage, with a distinctive white throat and belly. The male Olive Whistler has a black mask around its eyes, while the female has a more subdued coloration. These birds are known for their melodious whistling calls, which they use to communicate and defend their territories. Olive Whistlers primarily feed on insects and small fruits, foraging in the dense undergrowth of their forest habitats. While their populations are currently stable, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential threats to their long-term survival.
