Myadestes lanaiensis (Wilson, SB, 1891)

Olomao, Myadestes lanaiensis, is a thrush of the Hawaiian Islands, breeding on Maui, Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi. It is a dark solitaire with similar plumage in both sexes, dark brown on the upperparts and grey below, with blackish legs. It lives in thickly grown gulches and uses the lower layers of the forest, where it often sits still in a hunched stance. Its song is made up of flute-like phrases, liquid warbles and gurgling whistles, and its call is a catlike rasp with an alternate high note.
