Orange-backed Troupial, Icterus croconotus, is a passerine of South America, breeding from northern, western and south-western Amazonia to northern Argentina. It occurs east of the Andes in countries including Guyana, Brazil, Paraguay, eastern Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. It is a member of the Icteridae family and was first described by Wagler in 1829. The bird is marked by a bright orange body with black on the face, bib, wings and tail, plus a small white patch on the wing and a blue ring of bare skin around the eye.
