Orange-billed Sparrow, Arremon aurantiirostris, is a passerine of the New World sparrows found in Middle America and South America from south-east Mexico to north-east Peru. It was described by Lafresnaye in 1847. Its range is broad but broken, and it lives mainly in the understorey of humid evergreen forest, both primary and secondary, in tropical areas. It also turns up at forest edges and in nearby plantations and gardens. The species is a year-round resident. Its breeding season runs from April to August, and all subspecies share the bright orange bill that gives the bird its name.
