Orange-breasted Bushshrike
Leioptila annectens
The Orange-breasted Bushshrike is a small, brightly colored bird found in the woodlands and savannas of eastern and southern Africa. It is known for its striking orange and black plumage, with a distinctive hooked bill and a melodious, flute-like song. These birds are often found in dense vegetation, where they forage for insects and small vertebrates. They are known for their secretive nature and can be difficult to spot despite their vibrant colors. The Orange-breasted Bushshrike is not currently considered to be at risk, but habitat loss and fragmentation are potential threats to its populations.
