Orange-throated Sunangel, Heliangelus mavors, is a hummingbird of South America, breeding in Colombia and Venezuela. It was described by Gould in 1848. It is a monotypic species. In Venezuela it occurs from Lara state south-west into Colombia to Boyacá Department. It uses open country, including the margins of humid cloudforest and elfin forest, as well as pastures, páramo and drier habitats. It is mainly sedentary, though after breeding it moves to lower ground within its range.
