Oriental Bay Owl, Phodilus badius, is a bay owl of the Oriental Region, ranging from south-east Asia to Borneo and Java. It is a nocturnal bird with a face shaped like a heart and marked by ear-like extensions. Several subspecies have been recognised. It was described by Horsfield in 1821 and belongs to the barn owl family, Tytonidae, within the order Strigiformes.
