Oriental Reed Warbler

Acrocephalus orientalis

The Oriental Reed Warbler is a small passerine bird known for its distinctive song and agile foraging behavior. This migratory bird breeds in dense reed beds and marshes across East Asia and winters in Southeast Asia. It has a plain brownish-grey plumage with subtle streaking on the underparts. This warbler is known for its skulking behavior, making it a challenging bird to observe. It primarily feeds on insects and small invertebrates, often catching them in mid-air. The Oriental Reed Warbler's population is currently stable, but it faces threats from habitat loss and degradation in its breeding and wintering grounds.
