Teretistridae — Cuban Warblers

Oriente Warbler, Teretistris fornsi, is a Cuban warbler found in Cuba, where it breeds in the island’s central and eastern parts. It belongs to the family Teretistridae and was described by Gundlach in 1858. The species has two subspecies, with one in the east and another in the Sierra Maestra. It lives in forest, scrub and thickets, from sea level to high mountain elevations, provided the understorey is little disturbed. It is a year-round resident and is known to occur in the Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago as well as on the main island.
