Orinoco Goose

Neochen jubata

The Orinoco Goose, also known as the Orinoco Greylag Goose, is a large waterfowl species native to South America. It is characterized by its distinctive gray plumage, long neck, and bright red beak. These geese inhabit wetlands, marshes, and riverbanks, often forming small flocks. They are primarily herbivorous, feeding on aquatic plants, grasses, and seeds. Orinoco Geese are known for their loud honking calls and strong pair bonds during the breeding season. While their populations are currently stable, they face threats from habitat loss and hunting in some regions.
