Ornate Lorikeet, Saudareos ornata, is a parrot of Australasia found in Sulawesi, the Togian Islands, the Banggai Islands, Muna, Butung and Kaledupa. It lives in forest, woodland, mangrove and plantations, and it is locally common. First described by Linnaeus in 1758, it is a member of the Psittaculidae. It is mainly green, with a purple-blue crown, red on the face and rear of the head, yellow behind the eyes, and no neck collar. The chin and chest are marked with red and blue bars.
