Ornate Sunbird

The male Ornate Sunbird is adorned with iridescent green and purple plumage, with a distinctive long, curved bill. The female is less colorful, with olive-green upperparts and yellow underparts. These sunbirds are nectar feeders and play an important role in pollination. They are often seen darting between flowers, using their long bills to extract nectar. In addition to nectar, they also consume insects. The Ornate Sunbird is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season.
