Ornate Tinamou

Ornate Tinamou, Nothoprocta ornata, is a tinamou in the family Tinamidae and the order Tinamiformes. It occurs in South America from Peru to northern Chile and north-western Argentina. Its range also includes the Andes of south-eastern Peru and western Bolivia. It is associated with high-altitude grassland and dry shrubland, and it is also found in shrubland at both high and low elevations. The species has three recognised subspecies, with named forms in Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina.
