Ovambo Sparrowhawk, Accipiter ovampensis, is a bird of prey of Africa, breeding from Senegal and Gambia to Ethiopia and south to northern South Africa, with non-breeding birds in central and western Africa. It is a member of the Accipitridae and was described by Gurney, JH Sr, 1875. A small sparrowhawk, it has the broad wings and long tail typical of Accipiter. It is also known as the Ovambo or Ovampo sparrowhawk, and its name comes from Ovamboland in northern Namibia.
