Pacific Gull

Larus pacificus

The Pacific Gull (Larus pacificus) is a large and robust gull found along the coasts of Australia. With a wingspan of up to 1.6 meters, it is easily recognizable by its striking black and white plumage, yellow bill, and pink legs. Pacific Gulls are opportunistic feeders, scavenging for food along the shoreline and also preying on small marine creatures. They are highly adaptable and can be found in a variety of coastal habitats, including beaches, estuaries, and rocky shores. This species is known for its bold and aggressive behavior, often competing with other birds for food. Despite being widespread, the Pacific Gull faces threats from habitat loss and human disturbance.
