Pacific Koel

Centropus milo

The Pacific Koel, or Centropus milo, is a species of cuckoo found in the Pacific Islands. It is known for its distinctive call, which is often heard during the breeding season. This bird has a sleek black plumage with striking red eyes and a long tail. The Pacific Koel is a brood parasite, laying its eggs in the nests of other bird species, particularly the Red-vented Bulbul. It is often found in forested areas and urban gardens, where it feeds on insects, fruits, and small animals. The Pacific Koel is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is stable.
