Pacific Parrotlet, Forpus coelestis, is a small parrot that breeds in western Ecuador and north-western Peru. It belongs to the Psittacidae family and was described by Lesson in 1847. In the wild it is green, with a dusty grey wash across the body, a vivid green facial mask and a pinkish bill. Males show blue on the wings, along with blue behind the eyes and on the rump, while females lack wing blue. It lives in dry habitats, including desert and deciduous forest, and also uses humid areas, woodlands, gardens, parks and crops.
