Pacific Swallow

Hirundo domicola

The Pacific Swallow, scientifically known as Hirundo domicola, is a small passerine bird native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. It is characterized by its distinctive steel-blue upperparts, white underparts, and a deeply forked tail. These agile birds are often seen in flight, darting and swooping over open areas and water bodies in search of flying insects. They build cup-shaped nests made of mud and grass, typically under eaves or in man-made structures. The Pacific Swallow is a common and adaptable species, often found in urban areas, agricultural landscapes, and coastal regions.
