Pacific Swallow

The Pacific Swallow (Hirundo tahitica) is a small passerine bird found in the Pacific islands. It has a distinctive steel-blue upperparts and a chestnut throat and forehead. The Pacific Swallow is known for its graceful and agile flight, often seen swooping and gliding over open areas in search of flying insects. This species is highly adaptable and can be found in a variety of habitats including coastal areas, forests, and urban areas. It builds cup-shaped nests from mud and grass, often under eaves or in other sheltered locations. The Pacific Swallow is not currently considered at risk and is classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN.
