Mycteria leucocephala

The Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala) is a large wading bird found in the wetlands of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive pink and white plumage with black wing feathers and a yellow bill. These elegant birds are known for their unique feeding behavior, using their long, curved bills to hunt for fish, frogs, and crustaceans in shallow waters. They are social birds, often nesting in colonies on trees or man-made structures. The Painted Stork is a symbol of wetland conservation and is revered in many cultures for its grace and beauty.
