Palawan Flycatcher, Ficedula platenae, is a bird of the Muscicapidae family that breeds in Palawan in the south-western Philippines. It is found only there, in tropical moist lowland forest, including primary and secondary dipterocarp forest. It favours places with rattan, bamboo and palm trees, and occurs close to the forest floor and in the lower understorey. The bird is secretive and usually solitary. Its call is distinctive and often mistaken for an insect, with a soft whistled song, repeated upslurred notes and a short trill.
