Pale-bellied Hermit, Phaethornis anthophilus, is a hummingbird of the family Trochilidae that breeds from Panama through Venezuela in Middle America and South America. It was described by Bourcier in 1843. The bird is a medium-sized hermit with dark green to olive green upperparts and light grey underparts. Its face shows a black mask, a buff supercilium and a mostly white throat. The bill is nearly straight in the male and curved down in the female. It lives mainly in semi-deciduous forest, and also uses drier woodland, secondary forest, gallery forest, plantations, and scrubby or thorny areas.
