Pale-faced Bare-eye, Phlegopsis borbae, is a bird of south-central Amazonian Brazil in sc Amazonia, where it lives in the understorey of humid evergreen forest. It is a member of the antbird family, Thamnophilidae, and was described by Hellmayr in 1907. The species is known for its pale facial area, with long white feathers on the forehead and lores, black feathers above the eye, and bare whitish skin behind it. It is found south of the Amazon between the Rio Madeira, Rio Tapajós and Rio Aripuanã, extending to the Rio Roosevelt.
