Pale-mandibled Aracari, Pteroglossus erythropygius, is a toucan in the family Ramphastidae that occurs in eastern Panama, western Colombia, western Ecuador and northwestern Peru. It was described by Gould in 1843. Its breeding range matches this South American distribution. The bird is also known as the pale-billed araçari. It lives in evergreen primary forest, mature secondary forest, and in coffee, cacao and fruit plantations. A notable feature is its bill, with a creamy yellow upper part marked by a black stripe and a creamy yellow lower part ending in a black tip.
