Carpodacus stoliczkae (Hume, 1874)

Pale Rosefinch Carpodacus stoliczkae is a finch of the family Fringillidae that breeds in arid montane scrub near water across parts of Afghanistan, south-west Xinjiang, northern Ladakh, Qinghai and western Gansu. Outside the breeding season it moves to lower elevations. It was described by Hume in 1874. This bird belongs to the passerines and is placed in the Palearctic region. Its range is centred on temperate areas of the central Palearctic, where it is associated with dry upland scrub close to water.
