Pale Thrush, Turdus pallidus, is a thrush of the Palearctic, breeding in se Russia, ne China and the Korea Pen., and spending the nonbreeding season in Japan, Taiwan and se China. It was described by Gmelin in 1789. Within the family Turdidae, it is placed in Passeriformes and is closely linked with the eye-browed thrush and grey-backed thrush. It lives in forests, scrub, gardens and parks, and is a shy bird that stays close to cover. The species is monotypic, with no recognised subspecies.
