Pale-vented Thrush

Turdus obsoletus

The Pale-vented Thrush, scientifically known as Turdus obsoletus, is a medium-sized songbird found in Central and South America. It has a distinctive olive-brown upper body and a pale grayish-white belly. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of tropical and subtropical forests. The Pale-vented Thrush forages for insects, fruits, and small invertebrates on the forest floor, using its sharp bill to probe the leaf litter. It is a shy and elusive bird, often difficult to spot due to its secretive nature. Despite its relatively wide distribution, the species may face threats from habitat loss and fragmentation.
