Palila, Loxioides bailleui, is a Hawaiian honeycreeper found in the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean. It is a finch-billed bird in the family Fringillidae. Its close link with the māmane tree, Sophora chrysophylla, is a key feature of its ecology. The species was first described by Oustalet in 1877. It is associated with dry forest habitat, and its decline has been tied to the loss of māmane trees and the forests that grow with them.
