Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler

Horornis acanthizoides

The Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler is a small, secretive bird found in dense, marshy areas and wet grasslands across its range in Asia. This species is known for its distinctive insect-like song and its elusive nature, often remaining hidden within dense vegetation. It has a brownish upper plumage with streaks, a pale underbelly, and a short tail. Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler forages for insects and small invertebrates in its preferred habitat, using its slender bill to probe through the vegetation. Due to its secretive behavior and preference for dense cover, this species can be challenging to observe in the wild.
