Pallid Spinetail

Pallid Spinetail, Cranioleuca pallida, is a bird of the Furnariidae and occurs in south-eastern Brazil. It was described by Wied-Neuwied in 1831. Its range runs from southern Goiás, central Minas Gerais and south-eastern Bahia to eastern Paraná. It lives in montane evergreen forest, woodland and mature secondary forest, at 700 to 2,150 m. It is a year-round resident. The species is monotypic, and the sexes share the same plumage. Adults show a broad whitish supercilium, a dark rufous crown and a spiky-looking tail.
