Palm Warbler

Setophaga palmarum

The Palm Warbler is a small songbird known for its distinctive tail-wagging behavior. This species is typically found in open areas with scattered trees and shrubs, such as bogs, marshes, and forest edges. Palm Warblers have a brownish-olive back, yellow underparts with streaking, and a rusty cap. During the breeding season, they can be found in the boreal forests of Canada and the northeastern United States, while in winter, they migrate to the southeastern United States and the Caribbean. Their diet consists mainly of insects and berries. Palm Warblers are not currently considered threatened, and their populations are stable.
