Papuan Mountain Pigeon, Gymnophaps albertisii, is a pigeon of the family Columbidae found in montane Bacan, Yapen, New Guinea and the D’Entrecasteaux Archipelago. It was described by Salvadori in 1874. It occurs in Australasia and is linked with forested mountain country, with records also from lowland areas. The species is medium-sized, measuring 33–36 cm in length and averaging 259 g. Adult males show slate-grey upperparts, chestnut-maroon underparts, a whitish breast, a pale grey tail tip, and bright red lores and eye area. Females are similar, with greyer breast and throat feather edges.
