Papuan Scrub Robin

Drymodes beccarii Salvadori, 1876

Papuan Scrub Robin, Drymodes beccarii, is a passerine in the Australasian robin family and breeds in New Guinea. It was described by Salvadori in 1876. It occurs in New Guinea and the Aru Islands, and is now recognised as separate from the northern scrub robin, with which it was once treated as the same species. Three subspecies are listed: beccarii in the Arfak and Wandammen Mountains of western New Guinea, brevirostris in southern and south-eastern New Guinea and the Aru Islands, and nigriceps in northern New Guinea east to Telefomin, including the Torricelli Mountains and Adelbert Range.
