Paramo Ground Tyrant, Muscisaxicola alpinus, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family in the high Andes of Colombia and Ecuador. It was described by Jardine in 1849. The bird is tied to puna and páramo grassland, including rocky ground, and to dry montane scrub. It is a resident species. Its breeding range covers Colombia and Ecuador, with the nominate form extending from far south-western Colombia into Ecuador. The species is also known for its plain cap, which is the feature reflected in one of its alternative names.
