Patagonian Mockingbird

Mimus patagonicus (d'Orbigny & Lafresnaye, 1837)

Patagonian Mockingbird, Mimus patagonicus, is a bird of southern and central South America, breeding in southern and central north-western Argentina and southern Chile. It belongs to the Mimidae family and is a resident in north-western and central Argentina. It favours open shrubland and bushland, including Patagonian steppe, and also occurs in rather open woodland in south-eastern Argentina. Its breeding range reaches as far south as the Strait of Magellan, and it is a casual visitor to Tierra del Fuego.
