Pauraque, Nyctidromus albicollis, is a nightjar of Middle America and South America, with a breeding range that is widespread across those regions. It is placed in the family Caprimulgidae and was described by Gmelin in 1789. The species is long-tailed and has broad rounded wings, with two plumage forms, one greyish-brown and the other rufous-brown. The adult male shows a white band near the wing tips and mostly white outer tail feathers, while the female has a narrower wing band and less white in the tail.
