Perija Tapaculo, Scytalopus perijanus, is a passerine of the Rhinocryptidae family that lives in the Perijá Mts. on the Colombia-Venezuela border in South America. It is confined to the Serranía del Perijá, where it occurs in a narrow mountain range shared by both countries. The species was formally described in 2015 from sixteen specimens collected between July 2008 and February 2009. Its known range includes part of Chamicero de Perijá Bird Reserve in Colombia and Sierra de Perijá National Park in Venezuela. It is a secretive bird and is hard to see.
