Perija Thistletail, Asthenes perijana, is a bird of the Furnariidae family that breeds in north-western Venezuela and northern Colombia, in the Serranía del Perijá. It is confined to that mountain range and lives in páramo grassland, along the upper limit of cloudforest, and in thick growth at tree line. The species has a long, deeply forked tail with sparse barbs at the feather tips, giving it a ragged look. It was first described by Phelps, WH Jr, 1977.
