Pheasant Pigeon, Otidiphaps nobilis, is a Columbidae bird that breeds in New Guinea and some larger satellites in Australasia. It was described by Gould in 1870. It lives in primary rainforest, mainly in hilly and lower mountain country, though it also occurs in lowland areas. The bird is the only member of its genus and is noted for its pheasant-like form, with a laterally compressed tail and rounded wings. Its nape varies by subspecies, with white, green, grey or black forms.
