Philadelphia Vireo

Vireo philadelphicus

The Philadelphia Vireo is a small songbird with olive-green upperparts, a white belly, and yellowish underparts. It has a distinctive white eyebrow stripe and a gray cap. This species breeds in the boreal forests of North America and migrates to Central and South America for the winter. It forages for insects in the tree canopy and is known for its repetitive, warbling song. The Philadelphia Vireo is a relatively inconspicuous bird, often staying hidden within the foliage. Its population is currently stable, but it faces threats from habitat loss and climate change.
