Philippine Drongo-Cuckoo, Surniculus velutinus, is a cuckoo of the Philippines, breeding in the Oriental Region except the Palawan group. It lives in lowland forest, including primary and secondary forest and bamboo woodland, and occurs up to 1,000 metres above sea level. It is a canopy and middle-storey bird that feeds on insects. The species is usually shy and solitary. It was described by Sharpe in 1877 and is now treated as distinct from the Square-tailed drongo-cuckoo. Its population is declining because of habitat loss.
